List of CPI Companies

Since last year there are so many NEW cost per install (CPI) marketing companies.

Ideally, they should help you drive downloads of your mobile apps, so that your app will rise in the app store rankings.

Here are a few you might consider:

  • Apperang
  • AppRedeem
  • Flurry
  • Jumptap
  • Tapjoy
  • TapZilla
  • Traffic Marketplace
  • WeReward

They don’t all work the same…I encourage you to check them out yourself.

Some quick thoughts:

  • You pay to drive app downloads, SO you’ll have better ranking, which SHOULD drive more downloads.
  • Some of these companies (don’t think any of the above) use sketchy means to drive downloads…stay away from them
  • Test bid prices so you are not over paying for downloads

Best of luck!

CPI - Cost per Install App Marketing

It is quite amazing to see how far app development has come in the past few years.

Hundreds of thousands of apps and thousands of companies now make apps.

But once you make an app, how do you market it?

IF you have a budget, I suggest you consider Cost per Install (CPI) Marketing.

What is Cost per Install marketing? Glad you asked. Let me briefly explain.

Here is how it works:

  • You make an app
  • There are companies (like Tapjoy & Flurry) that you can pay to market your app
  • You set up and fund an account with them
  • Install their SDK on your app
  • Decide how much you are willing to pay per install
  • And you start driving installs
All of this will hopefully push you up the ranking in iTunes and help you get lots and lots of people seeing your app.

Hope that all makes sense. I encourage you to test it for yourselves!

Mobile Ad Networks for iPhone App Publishers

It is NOT easy to make money developing iPhone apps.

I’m a firm believer in creating free apps of great value and monetizing those apps with virtual currency and advertising.

If you are an iPhone app developer, do you know which ad networks you can use to place ads in your apps?

Here are questions I ask of each ad network:

  • What revenue & eCPM (eCPM = effective cost per thousand) can they drive for me?
  • Can the fill all the banner ad requests I’ll send them?
  • Are they easy to integrate with?

My current favorite three mobile ad networks are: 1) iAds, 2) Google AdSense, and 3) Millennial Media.

They each have their BIG strengths.

Here they are:

  • iAds = high CPMs
  • Google = high fill rates
  • Millennial = a good combination of both

Hope this helps! Question?

Analytical iPhone App Marketing

iPhone app developers BE CREATIVE, but also go BY THE NUMBERS.

OK, enough of caps.

What numbers should you research, project, track, and run your business by:

  • Development
  • Overall marketing
  • Each individual marketing campaign
  • Value of a customer

iPhone app marketing analysis is just as important as the creative side.

So work on both the creative and analytical sides of your marketing.
